Dates: From 16 March to 27 May.
Presentation venue: Aldamar Palace.

The museum will house a collection of over 300 fashion drawings in ink, watercolours and gouaches painted by the avant-garde artist Carlos Sáenz deTejada (Tangier, 1897-Madrid, 1958) completed during the 1930's in Paris. The painter, one of the greatest illustrators of his time, guides us through the trends of the fashion capital of the day, portraying the new role women played during that period.
His works are an example of models of a stylized figuration, leaving aside his penchant for the avant-gardism of the early twentieth century or the social realism for which he became renowned during the 1920's. We should point out that Saenz de Tejada took part in the first Exhibition of Iberian Artists held in 1925, where the most influential figures in Spanish modern art (Dalí, Cossio, Bores, Solana, Arteta and Barradas) were introduced to society as a pivotal movement.
The exhibition is organized by Museo ABC in Madrid, owner of the artwork displayed, in collaboration with the Fundación Cristóbal Balenciaga Fundazioa.
Curator: Inmaculada Corcho, Director of Museo ABC.
